How to buy tea

There are many kinds of tea in Taiwan, and each tea has its own unique flavor due to different preparation methods! The quality and price will also vary according to the season, output and process! Therefore, we will provide information on the characteristics of various Taiwanese teas, the main points of purchasing tea, and the judgment of the quality of tea, so as to provide consumers with reference when purchasing tea.

1. Features of the seven major teas in Taiwan:
  • Pouchong:
  • Also called clear tea. The shape is naturally curved, and the tea soup is yellow. It is famous for its aroma and is known as the "beauty in tea".

  • Tieguanyin:
  • The degree of fermentation is heavier than that of Dongding Oolong tea. Tieguanyin's unique "baking with cloth" makes the tea rich and pure, and full of throat rhythm.

  • Oolong tea:
  • The soup is golden yellow and clear, fragrant and full of throat rhythm. The tea leaves are durable and durable, and the shape is hemispherical. Dongding Oolong Tea is known as the Holy of Tea in Taiwan.

  • Oriental Beauty:
  • Also known as Baihao oolong tea and Pengfeng tea, it is the best oolong tea. It has a sweet honey aroma and natural ripe fruit aroma, with a sweet throat rhyme.

  • Longjing:
  • It retains the original flavor of Chajing, the shape is fresh green, flat and white, and the tea soup is yellow-green and clear, with a fresh and refreshing taste. It is a non-fermented tea.

  • Sun Moon Black Tea:

  • Appearance: In addition to distinguishing the age and tenderness of tea leaves, the shape is also a key consideration. For example, Wenshan Baozhong tea is strip-shaped; Dongding oolong tea is tightly knotted hemispherical; Muzha Tieguanyin is spherical; Baibo oolong is naturally curled.

  • Color: The surface is oily and fresh. For example, Wenshan Baozhong tea and Dongding oolong tea are dark green; Muzha Tieguanyin is dark brown; Baibo oolong tea is red, white, yellow, brown and green.
